Your birthdays stay on your phone.
One email is all we ask.

Every birthday, contact, photo and memory you add lives only on your device. The single exception is the email you give us once, the first time you install Bday Wishes, so we can send you occasional product news. No trackers, no analytics, no selling anything to anyone.

Local reminders

It nudges you. Nobody else hears it.

Bday Wishes taps you on the shoulder the moment a birthday lands, scheduled by your iPhone from dates already on it. There are no push servers, so the message about who you care about is built and shown without anything leaving the phone. Try it.

It's Mom's birthday today
A quick wish would make their day.

That banner was assembled and shown by your own device, from a birthday already on it. No push server was contacted, so nobody, not even us, ever learns whose birthday it is or that you were reminded. The name you typed never left this page.

The guest list

Who gets to see your birthdays and contacts?

Here is the complete invitation list for the birthdays, contacts and memories inside Bday Wishes. Read it top to bottom.

Your birthdays, contacts, photos and yearly notes never leave the phone. The only thing we ever receive is the email (and optional phone) you hand us once at first launch, kept on our own server so we can email you now and then. That's it, and you can delete it anytime.

The house rules, in full

The party-of-one above, written out as a proper privacy policy. No legalese.

Where your data lives

Everything you put into Bday Wishes -> the people you add, their birthdays and photos, the notes and yearly memories you write, gift ideas, and your own profile -> is stored only on your device, in the app's local database. None of it is ever uploaded to us or to anyone else.

The one thing we collect: your email

The first time you open a fresh install, we ask for your email address (required) and, if you want, your phone number (optional). This is the only information that leaves your device, and we ask for it once: existing users updating the app are never asked, and reinstalling doesn't ask again. When you send it, our server also records the country your request came from and a one-way hash of your IP address (we never store the raw IP). We use this to know roughly where our users are and, if you tick the optional box, to send you occasional product news. We never sell it or share it with anyone.

Marketing emails are strictly opt-in: the "send me updates" box is unticked by default, and giving us your email to use the app never signs you up to anything on its own.

What we never collect

Unsubscribe & deletion

Every update email has a one-tap unsubscribe link, and you can opt out anytime at floati.life/unsubscribe. To have your email and phone number deleted from our records entirely, email us (below) and we'll remove them.

iCloud sync (off by default)

iCloud sync is turned off until you switch it on yourself in Settings → Data. If you enable it, your birthdays sync across your own Apple devices through your private iCloud account, handled entirely by Apple. It never passes through us and we have no access to it. Turn it off and everything stays only on the device.

Contacts (optional)

If you choose to import birthdays from Contacts, the app asks for Contacts permission and reads them only on your device to find birthdays to add. Contact information is never sent to us or to anyone else. You can decline and add people by hand instead.

Notifications

Birthday reminders are scheduled locally on your device by iOS, exactly like the demo above. There are no push servers and no remote notifications -> nothing about who you are reminded about leaves the phone.

Encrypted backups

You can export your data as a backup file. Backups are encrypted with AES-256 using a passphrase you choose. The passphrase is never sent anywhere and we cannot recover it for you -> that is the privacy trade-off. The backup file stays on your phone until you decide to share it.

App Store & Play privacy labels

The store listings declare exactly what this page does: we collect your email address, an optional phone number, and a coarse location (country, derived from your IP), used for account contact and, with your consent, product marketing. Everything else in the app is Data Not Collected. The rest of your data, every birthday and memory, stays on your device.

Children's privacy

Bday Wishes is suitable for all ages, but we don't knowingly collect an email address from a child under 13 (or the age of digital consent where you live). If you believe a child has given us their email, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If anything changes, the updated policy is published at this URL with a new "last updated" date. No silent edits.
